The City Council of Brno today approved the results of the open international urban competition for the new Brno rail station situated in the current locality below the hill of Petrov. Submitted to the competition were a total of 58 designs from architects in Brno, Prague, Europe, the USA and China. Amid strong international competition, the winning team was chosen as UNIT architekti, which offered for the southern area of the city centre a realistic concept of gradual built growth with an attractive central park, placing emphasis on diversity and living quality, with respect for the character of the surrounding areas.
